julia C. brown Morris
RN, MSN,FNP-BC, IFM Practitioner
Through her own challenging health and faith journey, Julia has embraced integrative and decentralized healthcare, and she launched Skylight Wellness South to focus on creating lasting help and healing for those with complex, chronic problems, mood conditions, addictions, and those with symptoms without clear causes or solutions. She has sought and found ways to apply deeper answers to the split between body and mind in modern medicine, and the split between "science" and authentic human care that has become more and more prominent. A native of Tennessee, Julia grew up in Oak Ridge, one of the original Manhattan Project towns, in what is now known as the Technology Corridor. Having grown up in a medical family, she worked in a variety of medical practices in her teens and early twenties. Julia graduated with a BS in Nursing from the University of Tennessee Knoxville, and in 1997, she graduated magna cum laude with a Master's in Nursing - Family Nurse Practitioner. She went on to work in emergency care, urgent care, geriatrics, psychiatry, hospice, long-term care, family practice, and in several high level leadership roles. Julia’s journey started while working at a rural clinic in Kentucky as a new NP. She cared for her first Lyme patient, and the great difficulties she encountered in getting her patient the right care, began to change her perspective. The disconnect between what clients needed, what research revealed, and what was available or promoted became a consuming passion to solve. She pursued and completed the Institute for Functional Medicine coursework, while also pursuing expertise in functional mental health care, circadian (sunlight) health, and healing.
Janie Garber
CFNC, INHC, LC, CDSS
After being diagnosed with a chronic illness in 2007, Janie began a journey to find healing through eating healthier, exercising sensibly, using natural remedies, and finding ways to live with minimal stress in her life. It was through all that she learned about how to live this kind of life, that she decided to get trained as a Life Coach at Lifeforming Leadership Coaching in Virginia, and then returned to school to become certified as an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach at the Institute of Integrative Nutrition (IIN) in New York City. During her training at IIN, she knew the key for her was to help her clients get to the root of their health issues and not just try and relieve the myriad of symptoms, so decided to continue her education in functional nutrition and went on to graduate as a Certified Functional Nutrition Coach from the Functional Nutrition Alliance in Portland, Oregon, an extraordinary program founded by Andrea Nakayama, an internationally acclaimed Functional Medicine Nutritionist. Under Andrea's tutelage, Janie studied the seven systems of the body: digestive, immune, urinary, cardiometabolic (heart), endocrine, nervous (brain), and reproductive. In addition, Janie has been a Life Coach since 2010, and is also a Dietary Supplement Specialist, and has received training in Mental Health Coaching. Today, Janie enjoys working with clients to get to the root cause(s) of their issue(s) and helping to guide them to better health and emotional well-being, even if they already feel like they've tried everything and been everywhere. She loves to work on strategies for managing stress and finding solutions for how stress and adrenalin impact our physical bodies (trouble sleeping, headaches, poor eating habits, backaches, etc.) Together with her husband, Ken, they founded Life Recovery Solutions, Inc., which focuses on helping people recover holistically from the effects of drug and alcohol abuse, crisis, trauma, stress, and chronic health issues.
